hey folks i gotta question i have racked my brain over and over, but i have no idea as to why my Marineland C-530 canister filter keeps blowing out micro bubbles..... 3 weeks ago i cleaned the filter and replaced the seals and gaskets however it was doing this prior to the cleaning. Could it be the bio-load? i have shook the filter & tilted it etc..... and it blows out a huge bust of air then runs clean for about 2-3 mins and then back to ever 2-3 mins small micro busts of bubbles. I have a decent amount of small CA's(8) in a 90 gallon biggest fish in there is 4 maybe 5 inches. please help.... my tank looks awful and not clean with all those annoying micro bubbles!!!!!!!!!!!!

There's air getting in some how. Could be a pin hole on the intake hose. Is the hose that attaches to the intake tube completely submerged?

i check all hoses as well and nothing i could find. What is your take on the bio load or is that more or less reaching way out for answers?!?!?!?
The load itself would have no affect but if the bio media was packed too tightly or if there's too much, that could cause the same problem. Did you add more media recently?

i did replace the carbon and the pH buffer (crushed coral) but i may have to much floss in the filter i wonder if that's the issue?????
Definitely could be. Take everything out you put in and see if the bubbles are still there. If they aren't, put half the amount back in

Curiously, why do you use carbon in your filtration? You really don't need it unless you are removing medication from the water for a recent treatment, or you have tannin in the water from driftwood (and if you have that, you should take it out & boil it until the water is clear).
It can work against you when you use water conditioners; the same goes for using ammo chips.
