hi guys, a friend has 2 micros about 2' long and one just won't touch food even though it appears hungry and after 2 months it still seems fat and vibrant. My theory is that its pregnant and needs a place to spawn as theres no vegetation. Any ideas its driving him :screwy:

Got two, does he know there male and female, what temp is the tank? do you know the water stats? also what food was it eating before the hunger strike, has he preformed any waterchanges recently?
My channa pleuro also would not eat for about a month, but shes eating again, it could be just bored of the food hes feeding,

Cheers for the suggestions. Well about half a dozen different foods have been tried and it didn't even touch feeder gold fish which is highly unusual. Guessing male female as they get along fine and one appears to have more girth (the one not eating). It thrashs around still spilling water on the floor which is general indicator it's hungry. Several water changes have been conducted. I think you may be right and it's just water temp, as I've seen similar happen before.

Maybe test the PH ect of the tank and let us know? then we can help a bit more :P

Thanks I'll let him know. Interestingly after putting 5 goldfish in it didn't show to much interest but ate the final 2 after the other Sh had the first 3. Seems unusual behavior

Yes six is near neutral which is what it should be which is ideal :)
