Hey , everytime im changing my water or put my hand down in the aquvaria he mico becomes nuts he swims around like crazy and bashes into things he got a scar now , nothing serious just some skin scar but still i rembmer how he always did this earlier too and made my TSN jump around like crazy aswell, the asiatica is calm tho . is there anyway to calm them down when ur doing water changes / adjusting the tank?

hmmm... uR other fishes are calm and used 2 it only uR micro gets cranky... if tat's the case imma juz suppose tat uR micro probably juz needs a li'l getting used 2... mebbe u wanna try juz being gentler and slower wif uR fella... who knows it may help... juz my 2 cents worth...

cheers...

i have allway found the micros are allways jumpy and hate water changes ,esp when doing large changes ,i do think they get stressed , your asiatica is probably not bothered because it actually prefers the cooler water of the water change , i agree with downunder just try and be a bit gentaler with the changes , see if you can match the temp closer of the water you change , remember your micro is allready towards the lowest temp he will be comfortable at 24deg and if changing water with cold water this will drop the tank temp to below what he is comfortable with, hence he is getting stressed , maybe mix your water in a bucket at 24deg first then pour into tank . iam sure your micro will be ok as he is now at the size when they become much less fragile and can take a lot more than a juvie micro can

let us know how you get on

cheers col

Hi, how big is your micro? How much time is it that you have it? What temperture is the new water at,is it aged water?

Well its like 30-35cm , around that i dunno had it for about 6 months , when i change water i usally take alittle bit colder , maybe around 23-24 c? and its not aged water , its straight from my "crane "?

tjena mannen..

benthopelagic; potamodromous (Ref. 51243); freshwater; depth range 100 – ? m Climate: tropical; 25 – 28°C
