Hello fellow fish lovers...

I'm sure i'm not the only person who has seen these tiny little wiggling worms floating about the water in my freshwater aquarium. Are these something to be concerned about? Water tests are all perfect, and theres no stagnant food kicking around in any corners.

i've seen these little guys a while back, and all i did was a water change and they filtered out i guess. I know there are a type of fish that will eat these micro worms but those fish would also be eaten in my tank.. hehe.

What should i do now? its been about two weeks and they're still floating around. I've done water changes and have very healthy water.

Thanks for any thoughts.

Could also be drain fly larvae. Have you noticed any little flies under the hood?

checked.. no flies.

sounds to me you have planaria worms.

hmm.... planaria worms..... i'l be doing some google searching on that thanks!

is this a really bad thing?

the tank seems so healthy otherwise..

dont feed ur fish for a day or two see if it goes away sometime when i put melafix and food in the tank i get that WHITE WORM.....i dont feed for a few and it goes away

hmm.... k wait no, looked online and planarian worms worms seem to get pretty big.

The ones in my tank look like a whole bunch of 1/4" long hairs wiggling around in the water.

Like non fish keepers wouldn't even know anythings there.. but under close inspection.. there they are.

Thanx, i've actually refrained from feeding for just over a week now... not helping..

maybe the use of melafix or pimafix would shock and kill them.
