I have been running the Marineland hot magnum 250 for close to 6 months now.I finally tried out my micron filter that came with it.I have had it running since last night,how long should I keep the micron filter running for?Right now the tank is clear in the front,the side not too much,since I did the water change and moved gravel around,sucking up stuff with the vacuum.

First couple of times I ran mine, it clogged up in 2 days.
Just rinsing it off is not enough to get it really clean.
An overnight soak in a bleach/water bath is the best way to clean them.
After running the micron for awhile, I can get a bit over a week before having to change out the cartridge.
Nice to have a spare so you can be cleaning one, while the other is in service.

yeah that is true,I still have the other blue filter,with carbon/ammonia to run still.Not a 100% sure if that helps with making the water clearer.
That Micron filter is only for polishing the water, not a constant filter that helps biologicly. Keep another filter on the tank when using that micron filter(sponge, HOB, etc).
I use my HOT 250 w/o wheel for mechanical filtration on my 90G, bio is taken care of with a canister.
