Hey all my Micro is growing out now hes about 6"-7" and I as wondering when it would be safe to put him in my big 225. I have a 12"ish giant gourami in there who likes to chase and harass my two large tinfoil barbs and chocolate cichlid. I was wondering if the giant snakehead is likely to get bullied alot or if they are good at holding their own.

thanks

they are to a point .do u have lots of hidding spots for him ?

I have floating cover, all the other hiding spaces are occupied by my clown knife and bichirs, but The two large floating plastic plants would provide adequate cover. I just don't want to move him in if he will do badly beacuse its hard to catch fish out of a tank that size. he seems to be dwarfing his growout tank

well to b honest i dont think he is dwarfing his grow out .i started mine in a 54 till they were about 9 inch or so then moved them to a 90 till they were about twelve inches .then moved them to a 180 which they lived in for about two years and grew to about 22 inches .now they are in a 680 and are 30 inch plus and that is were there staying lol.as for cover if u do decide to put him/her in ur bigger tank i would deff put more cover in there.

my gg ignores my smaller snakehead, worth a try jus keep an eye on em... my snakeheads gets beat by my african pike all the time and is too slow to get him back but he is still eating and look ing happy, they... well my one is pretty hardy and has spent 2 months now around my cichlids and what not.

its just that my snakehead is only in a 20 long, cause he was 2 inches when I got him. I would love to put him in my big tank but he only seems to eat prawns/silversides. I haven't managedto get him to eat pellets yet. any tricks?

mine has no interest in pellets or anything that is not meat... i had one before that would take the occassional pellet... white fish fillet is the cheapest way to go when he gets large... imagine feeding a 3foot fish hikari pellets, it would eat all your wages lol!

i feed mine frozen smelts they are fairly cheep also 11lbs box for about 40 bucks lasts a cupple months but mine are also 30 plus inches . i was never able to get mine on pellets .wish i had some advice for ya sorry man
