hey guys.. just so happens my LFS has little micropeltes for very cheap and in fear of these giants becomming banned in Canada (they think they may become invasive), he really wants them gone. They are 4-5" and I can give them a 55g growout (3 or 4 of them) for now. I currently have a 28" silver aro, and mostly fish way too big for these to eat.

I know even for a shot at this requires a massive tank and I am going minimum 9x3x3 with my next build. I know how badass and voracious these fish can be, my big Q is just whether ANYONE has had success keeping them in any sort of community tank?

Hi,yes I have seen micros in community tanks,it can be done, personally Id keep and kept my micros in a species tank!

I've housed a micropeltes together with a green arowana, a florida gar, a bichir, a common pleco & they seemed fine (all raised together from young).. But the micro I'd was only a little under 2 feet..
I've heard that when micro reaches a certain size/length (I think it's >2 feet), they become really aggressive towards tankmates regardless of whether or not they were raised together.. don't really know how true this is cause I never got the chance to try it out..

Giant 2.5ft Micro can be live with large monsterfishes like gars ,arapaima ,arowana, giant gourami , large st,IT & many other large fishes i have observe such a comm in public aquarium with no problem just feed them well.

if you get them i'd go with just one, I've seen them team up to make a meal out of fish that singles wouldn't be able to injure too badly on its own.
