I've got a teeny (hockey puck-sized) jar with green water, about five fairy shrimp and two bloodworms. It sits next to a light bulb to keep the green on. I'd like to filter it lightly, but can't think of anything small enough. I could do a sponge filter if I could get small enough bubbles. Is anything already on the market that does this or am I going to try modifying an existing airstone?

Or would a sprig of java moss be able to handle things well enough?

Would you please read your address bar and tell me what website you're on?

What isn't monster about micro tanks? It's pretty heavy stuff, man!

Aww, that's cheating! But I do think I'll let the green water slowly die and go with the java instead of a filter. I also am going to hunt down a more aquarium-like box. I want to do something like the world's smallest tank, but with critters instead of just plants. I've got some sand and pebbles in the basement and already have the moss, so it's just a matter of finding the optimum container. Probably at the dollar store. Basically, I hope to not need a filter since it's just a few fairy shrimp and maybe a couple of detritus worms.

i would get the smallest air pump i can find, hook it up to normal airline tubing, hook that up to smaller tubing and then wrap the end in poly fiber then apply silicone to the ends of the rolled up polyfiber so thaat the air would have to go through the poly fiber and then stick this in a mini overlow that is not drilled in the minitank, but have holes in the bottom of the overflow.

this way water is sucked through the bottom holes in the base of the overflow from the mini sponge filter and then out and over the top of the mini overflow.

That could work. Still pondering and searching for a little acrylic mini-tank. I checked the dollar store, but everything was too opaque for my tastes.

do yah have a place in your town where they sell glass, or acrylic, you can give them dimensions of what you want and then glue it or silicone it together yourself or ask if they have a scraps bin and use those.
