So about a month ago my Midas pair spawned. One week after that the Male when berserk and killed everything in the tank except the babies(including his mate).

Now all he does is hide all day, and I haven't seen him in two weeks, unless i put my hand in the tank and move the rocks. His is laying on his side sometime and when i do move the rock he immediately tries to find another to hide behind.

This behaviour is become quit annoying, especially when I have a 125 with one fish(because of him) that I never get to see.

Does anyone have an idea on his behaviour and will he go back to normal.

P.S water parameter are perfect check them immediately before i posted this.

Have a look at his faeces for clues, to help at least try and rule out internal problems. I only say, because I've had problems with parasites etc and aside from similar behaviour, there are no real external symptoms

Might sound counter intuitive but you could add more hiding places, then he'll maybe feel more comfortable and come out more. Failing that possibly get some dithers/targets that he either can or can't catch, like giant danios

I had a Lyonsi that did something kinda similar. It was a pretty docile fish, growing fast, eating A LOT, for months. Then one day, he started "acting strange". Dug a huge crater in the middle of the tank under a stump--way too big for usual Amph type behavior. Every fish in the tank would hide all day. They all knew something was just not right with the Lyonsi, he was bigger than almost every other fish in the tank, so they just hunkered down. The Lyonsi hunkered down. Then, one day, the Lyonsi started thrashing around at the top of the water, swimming in wierd circles, and slammed his head on the lid. He sunk to the bottom, nose down in the sand, and died. Strangest thing I've ever seen in an aquarium yet. All the other fish stayed hidden for another day or two just to be sure, then they all came out like nothing happened.

go grab a dozen convicts, that will stir it up in there... maybe he is just depressed after flipping out and killing everyone!-) does he eat? dose with salt and add dithers is what i would do mate.
