Midas adult question

I thought Midas were orange when they were adults.

A guy at my lfs said all of them turned out to be barred. I thought only some of them were barred?

Please clear this up.

You're right. Only some stay barred, the majority become orange/white.

Barred Midas is just another form of midas.

I would say the adult barred Midas is less common than orange/white.

Hahaha, if it were petsmart they would say put it in a 20 gallon with other south american cichlids.

I just found out today that the chinese restaurant right next to my petsmart has an arowana, a HUGE clownknife, and a 12 inch midas (that is orange!!!! not barred) that are among other fish in a huge like 200 or 300 gallon tank....I am going to go to them if I have any questions instead of petsmart. Pretty sweet fish tank especially in a restaurant.
