As I am new to cichlids. I am going to do a gravel cleaning today on my tank and wanted to know since my midas and jag have been building mounds all over the place in my tank. Are they going to get depressed or really ticked off when I mess with the gravel while cleaning it. They are 5inches each.

They will be fine. Go ahead and clean as usual, they will just dig the pits back again after you're done. They may not like it though. My RD/Midas tries repeatedly to bite my hand when I put it in the tank during cleanings.
As the others already stated... they may not like it, but it will not hurt them any. They will go right back to it as soon as your done.
My jag's don't seem to mind it much. I think they are just used to it by now. A couple of hours after I've finnished they both start diggin' away and piling the gravel where they want it.
