I purchased a proven midas breeding pair about 4 months ago. The pair is about 2 years old and produced very good quality fry for the previous owner. The pair is F1 from Jeff Rapps, and the are extremely good together. After relocation it took them about 3 months to start spawning again but in the past month they've spawned twice and it seems that the big male is eating the fry. He is extremely territorial and goes nuts if i even enter the room they are in. The female just stays inside the upside-down pot with the eggs and he wont let her out. I've considered two reasons they could eat their fry. One being inexperience which cannot be the case cause they've bred many many times and never ate the fry before. And Two the water parameters being off, which they are not. Any help or input would greatly be appreciated. Thanks.
