For all the owners on here who have owned a Large Midas w/ a nice sized Nuchal Hump: when does the hump start developing, another words, when along the line do you know if they will or will not have a nuchal hump as an adult?

I agree with that, but conditions can modify it. A subdominant fish in a community of larger fish won't likely show much. Also, all environmental issues have to be just right -- good food, clean water, the right mix of fish (you want the Midas to gain some sense of dominance), etc.

One thing is fore sure, your midas, sooner or later is going to get a big hump. One of the siblings I kept is already getting one at 5".

Dad has a big hump for a WC fish.
