These are pure midas I got from rapps a month ago and after only one month they have gotten super bright in color. Like night and day. Every other pics is a new fish. I have 4 in a 125 with 2 salvinis some young cubans and 6 silver dollars. Eventually looking for a pair of midas or whatever else that decides to pair up.

Nice bunch of Midas!!! :headbang2
My big guy started off white as well.
He turned orange in 2 weeks & stared to get dark/black markings too.
Now he's a nice red, & the black turned white.
My lil/newest guy look like a mix between to last 2 pix.
Only difference is he has a fuller flowerline/horizontal lines, & darker bars.

I luv the marking of the 3rd fish!!!
If I see one like that I'm going to get it.

Wow that is one orange midas, absolutely beautiful! He is nice and thick too. I believe the third one is growing a nuchal hump.

I really like the looks of this one. Modestman, yours was and is a beautiful brute.
yea I was hoping he would keep the black but oh well. I really hope the last one grows to stay barred but I guese the chances of that happening are pretty slim.

Thanks I will probably post more pics in a months time. They aren't the most aggressive fish in the tank but boy are they avid feeders which is good because I hate picky fish. Real good personality too.

they look awesome...I have a male citrinellum and 4 labiatum from Rapps that I'm growing out. They all started out yellow but most are turning more and more bright orange. :)

I'm hoping mine keeps his bars too!!!
After a month my guys bars have stayed & gotten darker, & his red is much more intense.
(Actually a month tomorrow.)

Here's a few crappy pix.
He's extremely camera shy, & still not used to me yet.
Still in the QT tank & will be moving out in a few more weeks.
Yes my QT tank needs the glass wiped, I just don't like stressing out my lil guy since he's so damn skittish. :)

Thanks jason, I have seen your midas many times and his parents. They are all stunning. One day I would love to get wild labiatum with the big lips but for now I will stick with the stocky midas. One thing I like about midas is their colors never really fade even when they are stressed so they are always bright.

Stunning fish. Get him in a "community" setting and he will come out. My last one also has some red growing on him.

On my list when I have the tank space.....or a red devil

They are great fish but they defiantly need their room.

Thanks!!!
He's been showing his "inner devil" the last 2 days.:headbang2
He's also been doing a lot of lip locking/flaring with another fish that was trying to pull rank.:naughty:
