Midas courting?

Looks like it to me but not sure. Sorry the video is so dark but I caught this footage tonight. I think you can still see the motions but just in case I got some pics too. The male has been pretty rowdy lately even challenging the local bully salvini but I was definitely surprised to see this. Is this definite pre-spawn behavior or is it too early to tell?

yea it does look like it... I have a thread right now of my pair getting ready to spawn again you should check it out....

Well the two fish that were showing the behavior last night aren't showing it today. False alarm I guess.

Hey maybe they already paired off then if they arent displaying same behavior. Once they pair out you will occasionally see the male showing off for the female to induce her to spawn and once they start spawning you'll see that behavior again from both. So don't count your chickens yet
