Midas growouts from House64's old pair- Ready to Breed

House_64 gave me some of his F1 Colored Midas growouts when they were about the size of a dime...The father was about 90% white with just a little orange around the eyes/face/fins , the mother was a light orange with light bronze along the top side of her body. Hard to believe these came off of that pair, but just goes to show you what a pair of wild colored midas can give you. I just never thought you could get a barred midas out of parents who were both colored. Then again, I guess the male could still change, or not...LOL...
These guys are getting real close to breeding hanging out in the pot together and chasing other fish off. I bet they will produce some nice looking offspring. They are roughly 5 1/2 to 6" I would guess.

Nice looking couple! I have a soft spot for Barred Midas! LOL

Hard to believe that you can keep them in with some Fronts.
 
I do to, (prefer Barred's). Yah, I been wanting to part with these fronts for a while now, but not a lot of hobbiest's around where I live, or even pet shops for that matter.
Thanks for the compliment on the fish, but they are of House's creation so he deserves the credit!
 
Very cool! I just had mine spawn. Huge clutch of eggs and all doing well in their new 20 gallon home.

Be prepared for a lot of fry. I have approx 500-600
