Hi, I want to ask you about the Midas Growth...I know that the answer is " they grow very fast":) (I read a lot of msgs with that answer :P)...but the question is: How much is "very fast"?.... I have a midas (I guess is a female), right now she is 8" SL (like 10" TL), I buyed her in May 2005 (1 year and 3-4 months) and she was 2" TL then. She is alone in a 55...but I don't know if her size is ok for her age or if she is a midget:confused: ....I know that they can reach like 12"-14", but I don't know how many years they reach that size...Ok, thanks for all :) ...

She's probably full grown. They CAN reach up to 16", but that's typically a larger-than-average size for males. Females average at about 9".

bought a juvie male (2") last september who is sitting at about 9" these days.

biggest changes the last couple of months is definitely in the face and body bulk that is starting to develop.

yeah shes about full grown maybe might get another inch on her..or so

i have a 3 year old midas male at 12" and been ina 75 gal most of the time.

Fish just get bigger as they get older. At this point she will continue to grow, just slowly. Keep up on the water changes and feed a nice varied diet. She might get another 3 inches or so in the next couple of years.

Males are the real big ones of the species.
