midas nuchal hump

i've got a male barred midas which is about 7" at the moment who hasn't got a hump just wondering if you think he will get one i would have thought he would have started to grow one by now, he's only been in my tank a couple of days.
sorry about the crappy pics ,he runs and hides if i get to close.

They often lose them when they are stressed like when they are moved so I would imagine it will get at least a small one if it is a me for sure. Just keep up the water quality and feed a good pellet and within a week or so you should see him get comfortable and get that hump growin:)

Oh man u took the wondering right out of my head. i have a vented sexed male barred juts like urs and the same exact size. he was in a tiny tank and extremely stressed when i got him. ihope they do get humps. ill keep u posted on mine and u keep me posted on urs. :)
 
The nuchual hump is all in the genetics if your fish Doss not have the genitics then it can't grow one. Clean water,dominance,good diet, will help bring it out. By 7-8" I think the hump should be visible but he could be a late Bloomer if he had one it would have shrunk from the move and it should come back. Good luck with him he looks nice keep us updated
 
i had to get him posted overnight and he's been hiding a bit since but he's starting to look a bit more confidant now so fingers crossed :)
