Where did you buy the Cichlid from?

I’d agree with Tom. Since they’ve been bred together for some time. It’s likely a hybrid esp from ur lfs.
In AU it would almost with certainty be a hybrid cross of the two species.
I’d say the good news is you can say its whichever one you wanted more, no one will be able to tell.

There have been a lot of threads lately from people asking if their fish is a Midas (Amphilophus citrinellum) or Red Devil (Amphilophus labiatum). A lot of these threads have pics of juvenile or sub adult fish. Trying to determine the identity of an adult fish is difficult enough, but...

Normally a person doesn't ask questions about their fish in another's thread. They would make your own thread. But your new so I will overlook it this time.
The black in the fins is from new regrowth of damaged fins. After some time the black will fade to the adult colors.
