Hi Guys,

I was hoping some of you experts could weigh in on your opinion here. I've had a chance to look at the vent. I'll admit, I had a hard time saying it was one or the other confidently. It appeared to look more like the male examples I've seen. Is that hump development starting on his head? He is about 6.5" and growing a little over an inch a month.

Thanks in advance!

Males have a lot flatter head slope, I call it the Mac truck effect.

Look at the mouth area, while both are coneish in shape, the female is a longer more narrow cone, male being more blunt.

In this pic on my male Amphilophus Sagittae, a close cousin of Midas. I highlighted this slope I mention in the head shape.
