What do you think?

This is the only picture for now. Was being so still and very good. As soon as I got the pic I was bit through the net and dropped him/her. Picked up and apparently they have sharp spines??? Dropped again.... No more fish out of tank.

Hopefully "He" is divided in a tank with my flowerhorn. I just got him yesterday and my FH has already dropped her tube and is being all flashy and showy. They've only been in the tank together overnight. Weighing the risk of lifting the divider. I would like to know for sure if the midas is male or now before I let her at him.

I tried sexing a midevil on this site the other day, the vent was supposedly male but the fish looked female to me. This one, the vent looks female but the fish looks like a boofy bloke. So now we got that out of the way my answer is I don't know. Good luck getting a definitive answer.

Right? I looked at the pictures of vents but I have to say. What I saw in person, my picture, and the pictures on the internet all look different.

Lift the divider & see wot happens, just don't take your eye off them for to long.

Check it out!

His hump is all red and got a little larger.

She did attack him a little and he messed up her fins...

I put holes in the divider just big enough for her. However still no tube drop from him.

Somebody else wanted to watch the fish too...

You might wanna wait for someone elses opinion on this coz i don't breed fish but if the fighting got too intense you might wanna leave the divider in for a couple of weeks & let them get acquainted first. Then maybe you could do a water change, light a candle, dim the lights & play some Barry White & get a better outcome. Good luck,,,

From everything I've read, it seems like they were showing breeding behavior. I think the timing is just off because she is full of eggs and he's in a new environment.
