Midas x blood parrot

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
maybe look a bit different maybe a bit more midas, got any pics?

Didn't breed them. Just wondering. In my country every BP is a midas-BP cross actually. Howcome do you get BPs when you breed these two?

I got fry at the house, out of 150 babies, 9 came out looking very parrot like, about half are deep bodied midas and the rest look like a normal midas.

No pics with me..........

Yea that sounds about right, Im sure the deep bodied ones are whats known as KKBP's.
Any chance of pics of some of them?

If it is the common situation, what happens to normal midas looking fry? Do they get sold? Are they really midas like their father, if not how can we avoid buying these?

Is it really possble to buy true Midas these days? Most appear to have been interbred with RD's, or thats what it would appear with the ammount of ID's round here. Same goes for Trimacs. I guess the best way to aviod getting hybrids is to buy from someone like rapps who is breeding direct from wild stock.

How good are the fish shops over in Turkey? I know the ones here where I live sale midas/red devil cross as either Midas or Red Devils but never as a mix which, they actually are and I have a feeling that is how 95% of the shops operate in the US. If I were you I would get in touch with Jeff Rapps or Don Conkel to see if there is anyone currently in your country importing there stock.

Fish shops here are very bad at americans. Sometimes I come across some very devil looking ones like this:

The problem is midas/RD are generally used to breed with BPs which fills the shops with strange looking midas/RD. I think the best I can do is to buy fish after I check his parents. Even then I will not know if it has some BP in it. God I hate BPs.
