Midas x Flowerhorn

i have this midas cichlid she started laying eggs out of nowhere every month with no male in the tank to fertilize them.so i went get a male flowerhorn and now she doesn't want to lay them anymore. can anyone tell me why?

i dont think so they get along pretty well..she laid eggs once with him in the tank she ate them a hour later

Well if its a local store flowerhorn I would be surprised if it was sterile.

the midas shes about 4 1/2 and the flowerhorn is about 5 inches

Flowerhorn most likely not fertile. But, GOOD LUCK!
