the lfs told me that all midas are this color untill they change color. is that true? do they change color? or did he sucker me into buying the wrong midas lol

that looks like a barred midas or some other amphilophus species...i would snap that fish up

you i have them both, was hoping they would change color though, had to get rid of the blue texas and red devil for these guys, so hope its worth it lol

the barred one will not turn orange...its real nice

i thought they were bigger..he may change to orange but if its a barred midas it will look like that

He wasn't entirely correct, but he wasn't entirely wrong either. Some midas start out this way and over time will completely change color, but some stay that way, and some don't start that way and may or may not change color (but as far as I know, it's impossible for a midas to start out white,red, or orange then change to the barred pattern).
