Midevil question

How long could I keep one in a fifty gallon breeder by itself. Would a 75 be good for life or should I rehome it. I am willing to get a 75 for him just because he's the most personable fish I've ever owed. But I won't go larger because I don't want upgrade the filtration and heater and so fourth. I have to draw a line so I don't get divorced. I don't think she'll notice the difference between a 50 or 75.

What are dimensions of the 50 breeder. A 75 would be good for a solo midevil.

I'd keep it in the breeder up to maybe 7 inches maybe 8 or 9 but beyond that the 75 would be best
