midwater tankmates for bgk? (40 breeder)

New to keeping knives, hes in the 40b alone at the moment, what are some active but oddish tankmates? (I do plan on upgrading to a 48" footprint in 6mo) THANKS

Try Congo Tetras. They've become my favorite shoaling fish. If the BGK has been in that tank for awhile, I suggest rearranging the decor just in case it's become territorial.

if you seriously plan on upgrading (which you will regardless of tankmates with the BGK) you could go with some juvi geos. they add a nice contrast with their colorful nature. here is one of my juvi male red humps. they will color up with age
