I had a whole bunch of natives in a 55 before I upgraded. I had an 8" LMB, a 5" SMB a 5" rock bass, six 3-5" longear sunfish, a 4" bluegill, an 8" blue catfish and a 7" channel catfish. It was sand bottomed with a bunch of rocks that I got from the local river from which the fish came. I also had a piece of driftwood from the local river. Filtered with an AC110 and two Marineland HOBs I never had any issues as long as I kept up with my water changes. The tank was too crowded to really have any aggression issues. When I moved them over to the 150 the LMB killed all of the other sunfish except one that seemed to be his buddy.

If you're setting up a new tank just cycle it as you normally would. A few sunfish from the local river would be great for cycling the tank, but you might lose some. I personally wouldn't add rocks and whatnot to a tank of mine again. Just my feelings on it.

Its already cyled n everything i jus didnt know if i should start them out with their own water or acclamate like amy other fish... What temp should it be at cause ive read a few ppl say natives do fine in teopical temps n some that say it needa to be like 65 so idk

is the 55G as big as you are going to go? avoid Large mouth bass, small mouth bass- both will get too big very soon, within the first year if properly cared for. bluegill will outgrow it in about 2 years. if you can get bantam, dollar, or orange spotted sunnies they will be a good size for that sized tank and you could keep several of them. a single longear or pumpkinseed would be ok, but both will get 10"-12" in a few years so if you get one that's going to be bigger than average it could get tight.
dace and darters would be happy in that size tank for for life and you could have 6-10 each with no problems.

room temp is fine.

Ok room temp... Ya i was jus plannin on smaller ones n then if the grt TOO big then ill jus release em back into the lake they came from... No harm no fowl lol
