might get a 55g

i may get a 55 gallon aquarium soon and i would like to stock large fish but not so big that you can only have 2 fish in the entire aquarium if you get my drift. i love gars but i dont belive there is one that can live its entire life in a 55. so if you know any fish that can be kept in a 55 its whole life span lmk

also can you put a birchir in there?

Anything that doesnt get past 10" or so. How about a GT, Dempsey, Convict. Then add some plecs and some dithers.

Ok, you like gars so go with a needlefish, it looks and acts like a mini gar imo, then you can have your bichirs such as 1 senegal and 1 delhezi. you still have good room for 1 or 2 severums, or a jack dempsey/green terror/texas cichlid. then ad a small cleanup crew such as some nice algea eating snails (can't have sucker fish with bichir!!!)

so here it is:

1x needlefish

2x severums
or
1x jack dempsey
or
1x texas cichlid
or
1x green terror

2 smaller bichirs

If you went with just bichirs you could have 3-4 of them in there, as long as they were sp. that don't get too big.
