cichlid city
does anybody think a single rd pair could work out in a 75.Ive been reading up on them and many sites say a pair could exist in a 75 gallon.well if they can i am thinking about ordering a pure labiatus from rapps for $65 at 7 inches.but it depends what the majority think on the site, becuase after all this is a pro fish keeping site :headbang2

Man i don't know where you recieved that info but thats straight b.s.............Think of it like this first off a 75gallon is a tiny ass tank for a 13-15" Aggressive Cichlid now think about how small it would be for each fish with a divider in the middle because you will have to divide them or the male will kill the female. A 2ft-18" space would be torture for a large RD...........Now last where are you going to keep and grow out the fry? It aint going to be in the 75 so your going to need at least an extra 55Gallon to grow them out in. And finally there is no money in breeding RD's due to there are plenty of stock in most areas. And using them as feeders would be just a long process that would end it a whole bunch of wasted time. The smallest tank for a pair of RD's would be a 125 at least anything else would be a joke. Be happy with what you have until you can get a way bigger tank. GoodLuck
