I want to do something new with my 55, and a peacock tank is an idea I am considering. I know Mbuna pretty well, but have never had Peacocks.

How many could I put in a 55 if I did an all male tank? I have a few local places that have a good selection of Peacocks, one of which has mostly F0 and F1s. Could I mix any Haps in with this tank, or will they grow too large?

Thanks in advance.

Peacocks will do good in a 55. Most haps get too big for 55's. Do you know what you want?

I don't know what I want. Like I said, if I go this route, probably all male Peacocks. Are there any species I should avoid putting together? How many is a good number to have in this tank?

i recently broke down my 55 gallon sps coral tank. i set it up with only aulonocara which is stocked with mainly males and a few females. as of right now i have a total of 9 with no problems at all.

Do not get peacocks that look too similar, one will not show its color as well. There are a few haps small enough for this... look for haps that max at less than 5 inches...

Go w/ the F1 since they have been breed in your local water.
