A very unique and interesting little species. I've kept them now for close to 5 years. They're coloration and behavior varies quite a bit with each individual. I love the fact that I can go from watching my huge 12" Amph attack the glass, to watching these little guys peacefully coexist in a planted community tank. Currently housing a trio of 2F and 1M. Truly a lovely and valued little species in the hobby.

One of my favourite dwarf species.Lots of character for a tiny cichlid and very attractive.
Have yours spawned for you?

Love these guys too. I've got 1 male and 3 females. And I'm with you...I love watching my big cichlid tank and then turning around in the same room and watching these guys in my planted community tank. Best of both worlds. :-)

They haven't spawned yet, at least that I'm aware of. The plants in the tank are very thick, so it's difficult to see any spawning activity.
