I have a pair of king kong parrots that spawn every few weeks and, as the male is not fertile, they eventually get frustrated. Last time they seemed kind of distressed at trying to many times and never getting babies.
So i was wondering,
I have lots of fertile male flowerhorn and texas, and I have heard of goldfish breeders "milking" their fish for sperm. So I was wondering if anyone on here has done this.. Milked sperm from a fertile male and added it to sterile eggs

Any response? I am afraid that if they spawned again the stress of trying so hard to get babies may make them sick, and they are my best parrots so I would like to do something like this
"

Why not just introduce a fertile fish to the (fertile) female parrot...initially through a divider (for safety)...and allow them to spawn on their own?

Not sure it's possible or feasible to milk a cichlid...

I agree with Matt just give her a fertile male to spawn with.

I know what you are talking about. But I do not have experience in this but I do think it is possible. Just gotta find the right procedures and some one who does this. So are you saying you will have the pair together to get her to lay eggs then use another male to fertilize them my putting his milt on the eggs?

I've seen it done with salmon but I don't think that would be anything like a cichlid. There are prob vids on youtube with it. I would imagine the male would need to be "in the mood" in order to do this. You may need to split the tank with the one you are going to milk on one side and the pair on the other.
