Yep. We call them "makahiya" here. "Hiya" is tagalog word for "shy". I still play around with them sometimes.:D
 
I cant see the vid but if its the mimosas tree I am thinking about, when I lived in Alabama we hated them! They left them gobs of sappy flowers every where! I found it comical that when I visit CA they were used in landscaping!
