I currently have my brown African knife in my 180 gal, but I'm going to be setting up a 20 gal planted tank. It's currently around 4" long, and from what I've read that may be the largest it gets. I would include plenty of hiding places for it, and would only have small tetra in with it besides.

Actually, Arican Brown Kinves (Xenomystus Nigri) averages around 8" I just gave mine to a buddy that was 6" I think if it was a 20gal Long, it would be fine. 29g would be the minimum for these guys in my opinion.
