min tank for Gold saum?

Whats the minimum tanksize for a Gold saum? 240 l ?

48x15x12" for a female and 48x18x18" for a male IMO. as single specimens except for a few catfish like pictus or loaches.

I'd say a 50g would be minimum. 75g would be comfortable

ok, but is it impossible to keep a Gold saum with smaller species like cons or such in a 55?

no, not impossible. tankmates depend on the individual fish.while some may accept tankmates others will murder all no matter tank size. i wouldnt add another cichlid in a 55, only catfish.

My 8" gold saum got along fine with 2 convicts in a 55g. If they grow up together I think you're fine. I wouldn't want to keep a gold saum in a 55gallon for life though.

OK, thanks for your help. So what I understand is that keeping a gold saum is basically like keeping other ca/sa cichlids (in similar sizes), as for tank size and tankmates?

A 55 would work for a bare minimum but who would want to provide the minimum for their prized cichlids....make him comfortable with at least a 75g.
