I know most people say 6x2x2-(180-Gallon) minimum...... but what about 5x2x2-(150-Gallon)??? or even a 4x2x2-(120-Gallon)?? assuming that the jar will get to 24 to 30 inches MAX??? and assuming that the Jardini will live alone with a pleco..?

thanks..

thanks..

you could do a 5x2, but not a 4x2, not enough length, 5x2's small too though.

anyone else??? i want to hear more comments from people who have kept these guys and know how they should be housed.

i agree ^^^^

Although not a jar, I did adopt one of my silver aros. He was 22" at the time and kept in a 4 foot tank. Very sad site to see. IMO you need at least 3x the fish for the length of the tank and the depth/width should be at least equal to that of the aro.

I think you should watch this video to get an idea on how big they can get..

Id say 5' isnt long enough, Id say a 6x2.5Wx2 would be minimum considering they're not as flexible and need a bit of turning room. But a 5x2x2 could house a Jardini up to about 17"

Looks to me that jar in the video is in a 5' x 2' x 2' and is about 26-27" long.
