mind blowing aquascapes

While I am blown away by the artistic talents of these aquascapers, I have to be honest: most of these are not my cup of tea.

I dislike pretty much anything with a little pathway or river leading into the background.
 
The "above ground" scapes are always kind of weird. Don't get me wrong, amazing work and I could never accomplish that, but I can see mountains and parks, etc any time. I want my tank to resemble the underside of the river that I CAN'T see anytime I want.
 
Yup, that's why some consider this an "art". Everyone's going to have their personal preferences, likes and dislikes ;-) We all don't have to agree on what looks good or bad...and even if I don't like the design I can appreciate the patience, creativity and being meticulous to whatever the results are.

Agreed, it is what makes this hobby great, do what you want, as long as the inhabitants are healthy!
 
While it may not be everyones cup of tea, there's no denying the skill and effort that have been put into making those aquqscapes...
Personally I prefer a more " messy and natural" looking one.
Most likely because I suck at aquascaping.
