i'm puzzled. i had bought a new(3rd) pike cichlid (i'm not sure exactly what kind) the other day and i cannot seem to find him anywhere. i moved everything in the tank trying to find it....moved my bed out of the way and loooked everywhere on the floor to see if it might have jumped out....no trace of anything. and i'm pretty sure it couldn't have been eaten by any of my other fish, they're all mostly smaller. only things bigger than this guy were the 2 other pikes...but one by maybe and inch and the other maybe an inch and a half. :screwy:

did you check your filter?
you never know

Did you move any structure you might have in the tank, I had one that burrowed under rocks.

i had that happen to a gost knife in my tank looked everywhere like u

I lost a 6" albino pleco into thin space also...never did find that sucka...alien abduction?

I had that happen with my Jack Dempsey. He was missing for over a month. Finally on the day I bought a Texas and added him to the tank, I had been moving some other fish out, and in the process I moved a large structure I had in the tank and saw the Tx swim up inside it. So I stuck my fingers up there to get him out and he bit me. So I ended up taking the top off the tank and lifting the whole wall structure out and low and behold! The Texas came out with the JD!
He's a big 9" guy now and would never fit back up in that wall!

So, there is always hope!
