ok affordable aquatics has mini bio pads, which look like pieces of sponge. i need to use more space in my 100g sump and was thinking of getting a 1000 pack of these. i already have 20l seachem pond matrix in there, my question, are these good for submerged media? the site has a lot of descrepencies as far as numbers go, can anyone verify any info on these? does anyone use them for bio? its cheap 50 bucks for about 50 gallons worth, im just wondering if its a waste. any input helps and heres a link to them

no matter how I look at it, its just high quality sponge which many people uses in aquarium filters, mostly HOB

It would work well for BB and mechanical filtration, it may get clogged pretty easily though. However, I personally haven't used it.

I'm basically wondering if this is a decent biomedia, I'm guessing it will be submerged mostly with some getting the wet dry effect and wondering if it will be of any use in my sump
