OK I HAVE HAD MY 150 GAL TANK RUNNING FOR ABOUT 1 YEAR. STOCK WAS S.A CICHLIDS, BUT RECENT CHANGE TO ALL JAGS 6 1-2" GUYS (TRYING TO GET A BREEDING PAIR I KNOW CAN ONLY KEEP 2 OF THEM IN THE END) WITH A PLECO. SO I RECENTLY CHANGED MY FILTER CARBON, AMMO CHIP, AND PADS. I THOUGHT THERE WOULD BE ENOUGH BIO BUILD UP IN SUBSTRATE TO OFF SET A MINI CYCLE. I WAS WRONG, AND IT'S 4 DAYS NOW VERY COUDY WATER. THE FISH SEEM TO BE FINE, BUT IS THERE ANYTHING I CAN DO TO SPEED THIS PROCESS UP? EX. WATER CHANGE OR SOMETHING? OR DO I JUST WAIT IT OUT?

What are your water perameters? Thats the only way to really give you a good answer.

ammo-o
nitrite-.25
nitrate-20
ph-7.2 ish
this is from strip kits best read i could get, prob not dead on. I am going to bring water in lfs tomorrow. i have a good one right nearby they do free liquid tests. i plan to do 30 gal water change tonight. it looks much better today already but its due for new water anyways. thanks for the info/help i think it has worked it self out. im still surprised with the little stock i have in there and the amount of gravel covering the bottom of tank i would get a mini cycle from changing filter media.
