Hey, I picked up my Rainbow today, and from what I read they are peaceful and should go with other cichlids of equal or lesser aggression levels. ENNNHHHH wrong info. He's psycho and attacking my angels, my lfs isn't going to be open be open much longer and I have no ride, I don't want to return him. My BF said he'd take him, but we have to set up a whole new tank. What do I do with him until then, the other tank has my rams and puffers, and he can't go in there, and the one he's in he can't stay in, the Angels are my prized pets, and if he kills one I'll be sending him on a one way sewer express. [well, not really, but he won't like where he ends up, back in display tanks] Someone tell me what I need to do before he kills off my precious angels! Thanks.

Come the heck on people, the mean ol' sucker is chasing them into corners and stuff as I speak, I need HELP with this!
Get a plastic bowl, cut hole so water and enter and leave. Tie it to the to of thee tank and put the cichld in it. Just make some sort of temp seperater for the cichlids...
if you cant move him into another tank, get a divider in there temporarily. also, never mix cichlids with angels, i learned the hard way. i was switching around fish and temporarily put my convict in my angel tank and in 20 minutes the con had already destroyed the angels fins.

The tank won't have time to cycle, and I don't want to lose my new fish, but the plastic bowl sounds like a good idea. Just so ya'll know, I don't own a divider >_< thanks for replying guys

If you have another tank available that's the route I would go, if you're worried about a cycle then move over some of the gravel and filter media from your current tank to the new tank, just make sure you keep a close eye on the parameters.
