heye guys
well just this morning i picked up a beautiful black ghost knife.. his about 7cmish very small
my baby Bala sharks (7-10cms) don't mind him too much, just wanted to know other people experiences about their black ghost knife..
Also tonight i TRYED hand feeding the ghostie ( yes i know its a bit early to try ) but i stilled tryed... i opened the lid.. put my hand in the water with frozen blood worms.. next second my bala sharks got so freaked out that they jumped out of the tank... no i did not move to fast or nothing. so please give me better tips how to tame my ghostie ohh yeah one last question... by me attempting to hand feed my baby black ghost knife, does this stress my bala sharks too much?. also everyone is in a 125gallon tank =]

your ghost prob didn't eat is because it's getting used to it's surrounding. Also they are nocturnal, meaning they are most active at night. You should try after about a week when your bgk is easy going same for your bala.

thx... so in a week ill try again? in that week should i try make him getting used to me.. or just feed him and turn the lights off and go away.? sorry about so much questions. im just nervous since all his doing tonight is sitting in his cave.. he wont eat.. Also in a week or so will he come out of his cave when lights are on so on?

They usually won't come out during day. So try feeding when it's night, you'll have a higher chance of your bgk to eat. I own a bgk about 6 1/2 inches now took him about 1 week for him to get used to me, then he started to eat out of fingers then now he eats out of my palm. You gotta take it slow at first. He's prob. in hias cave cause he's still getting used to things. Also if you have larger fish your bgk might be intimidated by them. My bgk was the big dog in my tank..(until i put in a clown knife) After about a week he SOMETIMES may come out. Mine usually doesn't...btw what do you feed your bgk? that might be a problem. Mine eats freeze dried bloodworms.

right now im feeding frozen blood worms.. i put a pea in his cave but he dusnt eat them, so ill take it out soon, also the bala sharks are the same size as him.. mabye even smaller.. tonight is going to be his 3rd night in the tank hopfully his happy in there and starts coming out time to time soon.. also my tank is not lighted up at all.. its just really really dim.. so i see why my BGK wouldnt come out =[. i just hope his alright and happy

i have 3 bala's a little bigger than yours and a BGK ( now about 7 inches). All live happily together but it did take Gilbert (the BGK) and 3 months before he felt completely happy about wandering about in the light. May be his other tank mates he was a little wary of. Now he is swimming about happily any time of day and growing great ( infact he is outgrowing many others in the growing tank!). still haven't managed to hand feed him but that might have something to do with a very hungry Oscar and a pack of angels!!! Will keep trying. Also he will eat anything thrown in his direction, bloodworms, discus granuels, catfish pellets etc but again i suspect it is a case of eat anything you can get from the oscar! also he seems to like eating the plants! never heard of it but he does it alot.

sellwoc dats pretty cool your BGK comes out in the light.. i wish mine would but i guess tonight is just gonna be his 3rd night in my tank =]. good luck with ur BGK they are truely amazing fishies
