hi all,
i am an aro keeper, and i was wondering if anybody here would have any comments on
the design below. Davidwy's design actually. would the sump be enough to cover the bioload?
i am planning to keep 8 aros and 2 or 3 plecos.. the main tank would be 8(l)x3(w)x5(h)..
the sump would be 4(l)x3x3

the width of the area is 5ft, so, i can only have the width of the pond/aquarium up to 3ft. i need the 2ft to walk along it.

Please you can keep 1 x aro in there, maybe 2 x aro if they very good friends with each other, watch same TV shows together, wash each others' dirty dishes and do not fight over bathroom (?huh?). But no way can 8 x aro's go inside 8 ft space!! Think will look like fried dace with salted black beans in cans!

But, to answer your original question, filter is very big enough for tank/pond. Problem is: tank/pond is not big enough for all your fish!

Hi Kujiraya,

sorry that i was offline til today. hmm.. the filter is to be big to handle the bioload. i might even make it
a 5 footer. how about adding tankmates and a wavemaker?
