"Miniature" TSN?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
There aren't any registered keepers on PC so I doubt they're in the market right now. It'd be nice to find one but I wouldn't hold my breath.

I feel like this fish would really sell if they started bringing them in since I know a lot of keepers are discouraged from keeping TSN's because of their potential max size. I can always hope for one to come in the hobby lol.

The problem is that the Pseudoplatystoma sp. are extremely difficult to identify as juveniles, so fishing them out of the river at a young age and successfully identifying them is difficult. There may be people out there who have no idea that they even have this sp. It would be nice to have this sp in the hobby.

Yes it would be very nice. But I still do not suggest anyone going out and trying to ID their fish in a pet store and thinking it's a P. orinocoense. As it is still unlikely. I do believe that snyder's fish is an orinocoense as all the bars/white stripes are in the correct places, along with the head shape/fin sizes relative to body. I believe your fish is very healthy, looks better than the deformed TSN's I think.
