I was at my lfs today and they has a tea cup ray for 50$ it was small maby 4 inches across is that a good price? and what is the minimum size tank you could house one in for life

thanks

Depends on what species it is. Teacup can refer to any number of young rays, though at that price it's most likely a Retic. They can be hard to feed. Read through the stickies on them. ;)

It recommends a 6'x2' tank, but if you do good water changes a 6'x1.5' would be good for quite some time.

+1

6X2 should be good for a long time, if it is a retic. You have to consider the tail lenght too, as they can get pretty long.

Just remember clean water is you best friend. WC and goof filtration is a must.

wow thats bigger than i thought thanks alot guys if i ever get a tank that big i just might pick a ray up

6X2 or bigger would be a lifetime size tank. If you have a smaller tank, let say a 75 or 90 tank. It will be okay as a growout, just remember your gonna need to upgrade.

BTW it is a good to know that there are people out there that just don't get a ray on impulse.

thx I try to know as much as posibul before i buy a fish or herp the guy at the LFS said it would be fine in a 55:screwy:

Your standard 180 gallon...6x2x2 should be the minimum for the smallest species of rays. Other than that the bigger the better. :)
BTW rays rule....
