This question is for all you goonch owners. I am selling my 21" goonch catfish and was wondering if anyone has kept their goonch in a 150 gallon(60" x 24" wide x 25"). The goonch is currently in a 230 gallon(72" x 24"wide x 30") and is doing fine. He doesn't move much and don't really see much activity at night but I don't want to stress him out as he is a magnificent catfish in mint condition!! The only time he moves is when it's time to eat so I am thinking he would be fine. I would like to move him to the 150 gallon until I sell him so I can move my growouts to the 230 gallon.

What do you goonch owners think?

Just looking for people that have kept their big goonch in a foot print the same as a 230 gallon but 1 foot shorter. It's just temporarily until I sell the goonch as it can't go with my rays in the big tanks. Looking for replies from "MyGiants","Estarego8","Chicxulub"," Egon", and " djaalix". Sorry if I missed any other of the big goonch owners. Don't be scared to chime in!!

I don't currently own a goonch but I would like to one day and how I see it, since it's only temporary, as long as the tank is wider than the goonch itself, it should be fine.

While obviously not ideal, I don't see an issue with it over the extreme short term while you're trying to sell him. Adding tons of current should make it easier on the fish. Djaalix had to move his to a smaller tank, too. IIRC, his fish are doing fine in the smaller tank.
