what is the minimum height and width for an asian aro?

I have a pond 10" long but my problem is the width is just 20-22" and height might just be 16-18" will this do for an asian aro? thanks..

I would say yes. Aros are quiet flexible fish. 30 inches or so is ideal, but I have seen aros kept in a LOT worse than 22 inches.

I am hoping you mean 10 feet and not 10 inches. I think that with the extreme length would compensate for the narrow width of the pond. It could start to be a problem though once your would reach 26". I would think you could at least try it.

I wish I could try it , but asians are illegal here in the states.

Also provisions should be made in case the aro were to decide to jump.

10ft x 20" x 16" at least would be the dimensions of the pond..

Here's my pond now

more comments please regarding tank width and height

It'll never be a plesant sight when you house big aros in there. But the smaller ones will still be fine.

Ive read somewhere before that there is a computation for aro tank size. Something like the min width for the tank is 3x the width of the aro same and height should be 1 1/3 of the aro.. Im not sure with the facts... please comment

That's talking about the swimming space for each aro. But then it's how effective and how big the filtration that's gonna determind the overall successful setup.

thats a nice pond

So what would be the min swimming space then? The setup would have a 100gal filter on the right side and over 150gal planted area to help with the nitrogen cycle and algae prevention. I think that will be sufficient enough for the 10ft x 22" x 16".I just want to make sure this would be enough for an aro or at most 3 aros.
