whats the minimum tank size for a peacock bass? i wanted to get a 125-180 gallon tank and i was thinking about buying just one and putting it with a jack dempsey, green terror, firemouth, and a texas cichlid. i will most likely get a 180 becuz i always see them for sell used on craigslist.

That ought to do, but you'll be close to capacity with it.. a pbass could outgrow it though. I got my 180 used from craigslist.

There are numerous threads about this already, just scroll down in the pbass thread a little...

180 will be fine when all the fish are small, but the one pbass will be fine in a 180 for a long time, if he has the tank for himself for the most part. They all could not live in their for life. Also, the pbass' growth rate will be a lot faster than those other sp. so they may get eaten if you don't plan it right!

240 is minimum.

I can see that Pbass turning all those tankmates into a quick snack.

It depends partly on what species you get, I believe the smallest is C. intermedia at around 21", some grow much larger.

You have no chance of acquiring any specimens though...
