Pics to come, What's the census on these? Picked up a used 150G Bowfront Thought it was an AquaVim but was wrong. Regardless. I'm not impressed with the stand that it came with. So it's getting rebuilt and reinforced. The tank has a weird built in overflow and came with 2 Eheim Pro II filters. A couple of heaters, River Rock, Lighting, Aerator, Net, Scraper,

Anyone have a MinJiang tank? Throw a pic up.

Usually the imported tanks don't come with liability insurance when their tanks fail. Most American made tank have insurance just in case they fail and cause water damage to your house. Just ask the seller. Good Luck.

Thanks for the heads up...

The Tank. The tank has a multi-panel lid that has 3 flourescant lights built into it. I'm not a fan and am thinking of a hinged lid idea to set in place instead.

The Stand, Basically all the supports inside were ripped out and replaced with 4 1x3s. They are screwed in place by 4 deck screws each. 2 through the top and 2 through the bottom. Theirs some water damage on the side of the stand, And the one door, as well as the front right corner. This caused the laminate to peal and bubble. So I'm going to tear the stand apart, keep the bottom and the top. Reframe the interior and try to fit the exterior back in place without it falling apart. I would just build a whole new stand but I think matching the color would be very difficult. Then again Lowe's paint dept might be able to do it. Then I could build the stand and just spray it.

Weird Overflow. Their was a Piece of Foam Board with Rock impressions and stuff Siliconed to the overflow. You can see them in the first pic sitting on top of the tank lid.

That is indeed an odd built in overflow... It's hard to see exactly how it works but it appears to be built similar to an aquarium d.i.y. sump which I don't think is too necessary for in tank overflow.

It looks to be all Siliconed in. I'm thinking of ripping it out and just using some PVC to plum in the Eheim 2s until I can get my hands on a couple of FX5s.

I'd much rather have the tank drilled out at the bottom so that I could do an overflow into a Second tank down below then run the Heaters, Filters and everything down their. Or even go with my other filter ideas. Any tips on how to pull that off with the holes up in the back of the tank?

Been cleaning out the tank and found a couple of more things with this overflow. Really having a hard time figuring out how this thing is supposed to work. I'm wondering if a couple of Utubes down to a tank below. Then hook my FX5s to that tank. Also concerned the Utubes wouldn't be able to keep up with the FX5s.

The more I find out about this tank the More annoyed I get with buying it. In pursuit of trying to find out if the bottom is tempered I found the tank on the Minjiang Website. Not only did I not buy what I thought I was buying but, I'm also about 50G less capacity then what I thought I was getting. This guy had me convinced this thing was an Aquavim custom build. And quite frankly it looks like one at first glance. but now comparing images I know better.

Smacking myself in the head cause I dumped $700.00 on this thing thinking it was something it wasn't... Trying to make the best of it so I did a DIY Light fixture for it. But still irritated that i'm going to probably have to upgrade again for my Os down the line.
