miraculous?

I had noticed a week ago that my sailfin pleco's sail had ripped and actually split so when he raised his fin, it was 2 sections. I was checking out the tank today, and remarkably his fin had healed back together again. I really didn't think that would happen since the fin would have to line up with the other half to heal. Anyone else had a similar or other miraculous experience with fish healing or being cured over night?

My sailfin for some reason likes to sit right behind my filter intake, and is constantly ripping its fins. But 2-3 days later their back to normal. I thought it was some kind of fin disease at first, but it always heals back.
